Wendy Barker

Wendy was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. After graduating with a Textile Industries degree from Leeds University, she spent a varied career in fabric technology in major retail buying offices and specialized in furnishing fabric production She decided to relocate to Orkney in 2008 and shifted her activity to renovating inherited property. The unique light on the landscape and sea had always been a draw to her artistic senses and to develop her creativity further began a course of study at Orkney College UHI. She graduated with a first-class, honours BA degree in Fine Art in 2022 with an immersive photographic and video installation. She continues to work in photographic mediums using her immediate surroundings as her subject bringing an alternative view of nature.
