Kelly Marwick
Kelly Marwick is an artist based in the Orkney Islands. She graduated from the University of Highlands and Islands in 2019 with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art. Kelly’s work involves drawing, analog photography and digital photography. Through the use of drawing, she depicts liminal spaces in Kirkwall’s urban areas that are a reminder of the dark, neglected spaces that are often overlooked in favour of more aesthetically pleasing landscapes. Familiarity and glimpses of nostalgia grow in these areas that we use as in-between spaces to travel from one location to another. A void. A feeling that you have been to this place before, unsure of whether it was a dream or a conscious memory.
